Fortnite has finally released Chapter 3’s new season 2, and it’s made some changes to the map and building mechanics. There’s a new order called the Resistance, and we’ve already seen the new characters thanks to the Battle Pass and introduction movie. The most significant alteration is that the building mechanics no longer exist.

For many players who have honed their building skills on Fortnite, this new change is upsetting. It only applies to the main Battle Royale arena, as the creative modes and games still allow you to build. For other games, it’s a welcome change since they can now destroy their opponents without walls getting in the way.

There’s a new shield that protects your armor and health bars. When it depletes, you’ll be damaged as usual. However, the change isn’t forever. If you follow the storyline for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, it seems like the Resistance will be working overtime to recover the building plans. We suspect this may happen by the end of the month.

While players cry about the loss of their walls, we’re more excited about what we’ve seen in the latest Fortnite Battle Pass. Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 saw plenty of Marvel and DC new and returning characters, while The Rock featured in Fortnite as the Foundation. Now, it seems like you can play as Gunnar that was one of the NPC enemies before, and clearing the BP unlocks Doctor Strange.

There’s also the appearance of The Prowler, who just happens to be Miles Morales’ uncle in the Marvel universe. So, we may just see young Miles in a Spidey suit in time to come. The only downside is that the server was so busy yesterday, we had to wait in a long queue before we could start playing. Today looked much better, and it seems like server maintenance may finally be over.
